Description

Welcome to the SGSAH Doctoral Internship Programme 2024-25.

The programme is open to arts and humanities PhD students in Scotland, regardless of funding source. Any doctoral researcher that meets the following criteria can benefit from this programme:

  • You are registered at a SGSAH member HEI;
  • You are in 2nd or early in your 3rd year (full time equivalent) at 1 October 2024*;
  • You are studying an arts and humanities discipline. The AHRC’s subject coverage is here;
  • You are eligible to work in the UK;
  • You have not already undertaken an internship or residency through SGSAH’s programme.
  • Some of these placements are within universities; you should not normally apply to your own university for an internship without previous approval from SGSAH, or to your existing industry partner if you are a CDA/ARCS researcher.

You can apply for multiple internship opportunities but we ask that you complete a separate, tailored form for each internship you are interested in applying for.

To view placements currently available as part of the SGSAH Internship programme, click here (opens in new tab).

You will be required to complete the following application form and upload a CV including the names and contact details of two referees, one of whom should be your supervisor. References will only be sought if you are selected for the position.

Please contact admin@sgsah.ac.uk if you have any queries.

Thanks for your interest and we look forward to receiving your completed application by 5pm on Friday 15 November.

*you can apply to undertake a placement in the later/final stages of your PhD provided that you will still be registered at your HEI throughout the total period of the internship and you have full support from your supervisory team.
